20-Year-Old Man Arrested in Noida Over Death Threats to Salman Khan and MLA Zeeshan Siddique
In a recent incident of targeted threats, a 20-year-old man from Noida’s Sector 39 was arrested for allegedly sending death threats to Bollywood actor Salman Khan and Zeeshan Siddique, an MLA and son of late NCP leader Baba Siddique, who was shot dead on October 12. Mumbai Police have taken Mohammed Tayyab into custody and are working to transfer him to Mumbai under a transit remand.
Sequence of Events and Threats Details
The threats were reportedly sent to Zeeshan Siddique’s office in Bandra on Friday evening, demanding a ransom and threatening violence against both Salman Khan and the MLA if the demands were unmet. A staff member at Siddique’s office filed a complaint with the police, leading to an FIR and an investigation, which traced the source of the threats to Tayyab. His arrest is part of ongoing efforts to address recent threats against Bollywood celebrities and politicians.
Past Threats Against Salman Khan
This incident adds to a series of threats received by Salman Khan, notably from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Earlier this year, suspected members of this gang reportedly opened fire outside Khan’s Bandra residence. As a result, the actor’s security has been increased to address the ongoing threat. In another related incident, Shaikh Hussain Shaikh Mausin, a vegetable vendor from Jamshedpur, was previously arrested for threatening the Mumbai Police through their WhatsApp helpline, demanding a ₹5 crore ransom.
Political Connection and Context
These threats also coincide with the recent assassination of Baba Siddique, a prominent NCP leader and father of Zeeshan Siddique. Baba Siddique was shot outside his son’s office, adding tension to the case. Pappu Yadav, an MP from Bihar, also reported receiving a recent death threat from the Bishnoi gang, warning him about his vocal support for Salman Khan. Yadav has since called on the Union Home Ministry for added protection.
The incident has sparked wider discussions about celebrity safety and the dangers associated with gang activities and extortion threats in India.
