The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has joined the global celebration of International Day of Yoga 2025 with a powerful message. Marking the occasion on June 21, the space agency highlighted this year’s theme, ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health,’ emphasizing the deep connection between personal well-being and environmental care.
In a post on X, ISRO shared its enthusiasm just hours before the global event. “Less than an hour away from International Day of Yoga 2025! ISRO is honoured to participate in the global observance on June 21 under the official theme ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’, which highlights the vital link between individual wellness and planetary care,” the statement read.
This year, ISRO is reinforcing its dual commitment to scientific excellence and holistic health. The organization urged citizens worldwide to embrace yoga not just as a personal practice but as a collective effort toward sustainability. “This #IDY2025, ISRO reaffirms its commitment to integrating scientific pursuit with mindful well-being. We invite all citizens to take up Yoga—cultivate health, strengthen resilience, and contribute to a sustainable world through collective practice,” the post added.
Meanwhile, India is gearing up for the 11th International Day of Yoga with grand celebrations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the national event from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, where over 3 lakh participants will join him in performing the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP). The session, scheduled from 6:30 AM to 7:45 AM, will be synchronized with over 10 lakh locations across the country as part of the ‘Yoga Sangam’ initiative.
The theme ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’ resonates with India’s vision of universal wellness. Rooted in the ancient Indian principle of ‘Sarve Santu Niramaya’ (May all be free from disease), it underscores the interdependence of human and environmental health. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Union Minister Prataprao Jadhav will also join the event, which is expected to see participation from more than two crore people across 1 lakh locations in the state.
ISRO’s participation in Yoga Day reflects a unique blend of science and spirituality. By advocating for yoga, the agency is not just promoting physical fitness but also aligning with a broader mission of planetary sustainability. In a world grappling with health and environmental challenges, the message is clear: individual well-being and earth’s health are inseparable.
As millions unite in yoga sessions nationwide, the event stands as a testament to India’s leadership in global wellness initiatives. Whether in space research or holistic living, ISRO continues to inspire with its balanced approach to progress.
