Excitement is building for Denver’s Mile High Power Fest 2025, and the festival just dropped a major announcement. Seattle’s Greyhawk has been added to the lineup, replacing Canadian heavy metallers Lycanthro, who had to cancel their performance. With new vocalist Anthony Corso leading the charge, Greyhawk is set to deliver an unforgettable set. Fans of traditional heavy metal won’t want to miss this. Their latest album, “Thunderheart,” released in April 2024, has been making waves in the power metal scene. Check out their band playthrough for “Spellstone” to get a taste of what’s in store.
Greyhawk isn’t the only act worth shouting about. The festival boasts an incredible roster including Powerglove, Glyph, Owlbear, Empress, Celestial Wizard, and more. Held on August 16th at Denver’s Oriental Theater, this year’s event promises to be a celebration of strength, unity, and—of course—power metal. General admission tickets are still available for $45, but VIP tables are already sold out, so don’t wait too long to grab yours.
The festival is a cornerstone of Denver’s metal scene, showcasing both local talent and international acts. Deeply rooted in the city’s culture, Mile High Power Fest is more than just a concert—it’s a gathering of metalheads united by their love for powerful music. The festival’s co-founder, Lucyfer of BiteSize Productions, shared her enthusiasm for this year’s event. After a stellar debut in 2024, the team has upped the ante for 2025, promising electrifying performances and an unbeatable atmosphere. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or new to power metal, this festival is a must-attend.
Headlining the event is Boston’s Powerglove, an instrumental power metal band known for their nostalgic covers of video game and TV themes. Their latest EP, “The Super Smash Bros,” dropped in August 2024 and is already a hit. Joining them is Glyph, a band that blurs the line between music and storytelling. Their latest album, “Honor, Power, Glory,” dropped in March 2024 and takes listeners on an intergalactic adventure.
Owlbear, another standout act, combines classic heavy metal influences with a love for fantasy role-playing games. Their debut album, “Chaos to the Realm,” earned them a dedicated following, and their sophomore release, “Feather & Claw,” is set to drop in February 2025. Empress, a symphonic power metal quintet from Philadelphia, is also on the bill. Their 2022 debut, “Fateweaver,” was praised for its grand, cinematic sound.
Denver locals Celestial Wizard and Oak, Ash & Thorn round out the lineup, offering a mix of fantasy-inspired metal and blackened pagan power metal. And don’t forget the pre-party, where local bands battle for a chance to perform at next year’s festival. With so much talent packed into one night, Mile High Power Fest 2025 is shaping up to be an unmissable event for power metal fans.
