Pushpa 2 Breaks Ticket Price Records: Allu Arjun Thanks Andhra CM
As excitement for Pushpa 2: The Rule intensifies, the film is making headlines not only for its gripping storyline and star-studded cast but also for setting a new benchmark in ticket pricing. With the Andhra Pradesh government approving a significant hike in ticket prices, the movie has become the highest-priced Telugu film ever. Allu Arjun, who plays the formidable Pushpa Raj, has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for their role in making this possible.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Allu Arjun thanked the Andhra Pradesh government: “I express my deepest gratitude to the Government of Andhra Pradesh for approving the ticket hike. This progressive decision reflects your dedication to the growth of the Telugu film industry. A special thanks to @AndhraPradeshCM Shri @ncbn for his visionary leadership, and to @PawanKalyan for his ongoing support of the industry.”
Pushpa 2 is not just setting the stage for a cinematic spectacle, but also rewriting the rules of movie ticket pricing. The film’s paid preview shows, scheduled for December 4 at 9:30 PM, will offer tickets at ₹944 (inclusive of GST), a first for a Telugu film. These prices apply to both multiplexes and single-screen theatres across select locations in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
The Andhra Pradesh government has also allowed for six shows per day at these elevated prices—₹324.50 for single screens and ₹413 for multiplexes. This pricing will be in effect from December 6 to 17, offering audiences the opportunity to experience the film at its premiere price.
While Pushpa 2 has been embraced by the Andhra Pradesh government, ticket prices in Telangana have stirred controversy. In the state, paid preview tickets are priced at ₹1,200, and regular tickets for multiplexes and single screens are pegged at ₹531 and ₹354, respectively. This sharp rise in prices has led to legal action, with a petition against the price hike set for hearing in the Telangana High Court on December 3, just a day before the film’s grand premiere.
Directed by Sukumar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Pushpa 2: The Rule continues the high-octane journey of Pushpa Raj (Allu Arjun), the red sandalwood smuggler at the center of a power struggle. Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil return in their roles as Srivalli and Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, respectively. The sequel promises to escalate the stakes, delivering even more action-packed sequences and gripping drama.
With a budget that places it among the most expensive films in Indian cinema, Pushpa 2 is not just a movie; it’s a spectacle. The film will be available in several formats, including IMAX, 3D, 4DX, and PVR ICE, ensuring fans get a dynamic viewing experience.
As the release date draws closer, Pushpa 2 has already achieved remarkable success with its advance bookings. By December 3, the film had amassed ₹40 crore in ticket sales, with over 13 lakh tickets sold. This early momentum has set the stage for what could be a record-breaking opening.
The film is predicted to challenge the biggest box-office hits, including RRR, with estimates suggesting that Pushpa 2 could surpass ₹300 crore in global box office collections on its opening day alone.
Pushpa 2: The Rule is set to dominate the box office and break several records as it gears up for its worldwide release on December 5. With a massive fan base eagerly awaiting the return of Pushpa Raj, and ticket prices at an all-time high, this sequel is destined for blockbuster success.
Whether you’re in it for the action, the drama, or the ticket prices, one thing is certain: Pushpa 2 is about to make history.
