Honda Cars India is set to launch the updated Elevate on October 6, 2026. This marks the first major mid-life update for the midsize SUV since its debut in September 2023. India will be the first market globally to receive the refreshed model. The update focuses on styling tweaks and feature additions rather than a complete redesign. Here is a detailed look at what changes and what stays the same.
Exterior Design Updates
The front end receives the most visible changes. The Elevate gets a new radiator grille with a hexagonal mesh pattern finished in gloss black. Three horizontal LED light strips run along the upper edge of the grille, visually connecting the daytime running lights. Honda has also moved its badge from the grille to the bonnet, a design cue first seen on the updated City sedan earlier this year. The headlamp units and front bumper largely retain their current design.
At the rear, the tail lamp graphics are revised. The illuminated strips inside the tail lamps now extend further towards the centre of the tailgate, creating a wider lighting signature. The overall shape of the tail lamps remains unchanged. New alloy wheel designs and refreshed paint options are also part of the package. These updates give the SUV a fresher look without altering its upright proportions, large glass area, or practical stance.
New Cabin Features and Technology
Inside, the dashboard layout remains familiar, but Honda has addressed key feature gaps. The facelift adds factory-fitted ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, and power adjustment for the driver's seat. A panoramic sunroof replaces the single-pane unit on higher variants. Dual-zone automatic climate control and electrically adjustable front seats are new additions. The 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto continues, along with the 7-inch semi-digital instrument cluster. A factory-fitted 360-degree camera joins the feature list, and Honda may expand the availability of Honda Sensing ADAS to more variants. Revised upholstery and new trim finishes complete the interior refresh.
Powertrain Remains Unchanged
Under the bonnet, the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated i-VTEC petrol engine carries over without changes. It produces 119 to 121 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque. Transmission options remain the 6-speed manual and CVT automatic. There is no hybrid, turbo-petrol, or CNG variant planned for this update. Honda is retaining its existing powertrain strategy while focusing the facelift on design and equipment upgrades.
Platform and Body Structure Unaltered
The Elevate continues on the same platform with an unchanged body shell. The overall silhouette, greenhouse, side profile, and dimensions remain identical to the current model. This approach helps Honda control development and production costs while delivering a visibly updated product. The SUV retains its spacious cabin and generous boot space, which have been key strengths since launch.
Pricing and Market Positioning
The current Elevate is priced between Rs 11.81 lakh and Rs 16.78 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelift is expected to start just under Rs 12 lakh, with higher variants seeing an increase of around Rs 15,000 to Rs 30,000 due to the added features. The update arrives ahead of the festive season and aims to boost the model's competitiveness against rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Toyota Hyryder. Sales have averaged around 1,900 units per month recently, and the facelift is expected to provide a much-needed momentum boost until Honda's next wave of new SUVs arrives from 2028 onwards.
The 2026 Honda Elevate facelift is a classic nip-and-tuck update. It brings the styling freshness and feature parity that buyers expect in this segment while keeping the proven mechanical package intact. For customers who value a spacious cabin, comfortable ride, and Honda's reliability, the updated Elevate makes a stronger case than before. However, those seeking a turbo engine, hybrid option, or a more radical design change will need to look elsewhere.
