Bengaluru-based Ultraviolette Automotive has launched the X-47 Venom electric motorcycle in India at an introductory price of ₹2.65 lakh ex-showroom. This is the first model built on the company's new VX-100 platform that uses a 100-volt high-voltage architecture. The launch marks a significant step for the brand as it prepares for European expansion with a debut at EICMA 2026 in Milan.
The X-47 Venom comes in four variants with two battery options. The entry-level variant uses a 7.5 kWh battery and starts at ₹2.65 lakh. The top-spec Recon+ variant gets an 11 kWh SRB-11 battery in Afterburner Yellow colour and is priced at ₹4.12 lakh. All prices are introductory for the first 5,000 customers and will increase by ₹35,000 after that. Bookings opened on October 22, 2026 at 4 PM through the company website. Customer deliveries are scheduled to begin in November 2026.
New VX-100 platform brings weight savings and more range
The VX-100 platform is the biggest change under the skin. Ultraviolette says the battery, motor and motor controller are all lighter while packing more energy. They also cool down faster. The base 7.5 kWh variant now weighs 180 kg, which is 17 kg lighter than the previous X-47 with a 7 kWh battery. The top Recon variant with the 11 kWh battery weighs 195 kg, down 13 kg from the outgoing model with its 10.3 kWh pack.
Range has improved as well. The base variant now claims 227 km (up 16 km) while the top variant claims 343 km (up 20 km) under IDC test conditions. The SRB-11 battery pack is 15 percent lighter and 25 percent more energy-dense than before, using axial cooling technology that doubles thermal dissipation.
Performance figures and charging
The Light Fury electric motor spins to 9,000 rpm and produces 30 kW (approximately 40 hp) with 550 Nm of wheel torque. Ultraviolette claims a 0-60 kmph time of 2.7 seconds and 0-100 kmph in 5.9 seconds, which is 2.2 seconds quicker than the previous model. Top speed stands at 155 kmph. The motor weight has been reduced by up to 30 percent with a 50 percent reduction in rare-earth metals.
DC fast charging is supported at up to 12 kW. With the standard 1.3 kW portable charger, a 20-80 percent top-up takes 5 hours 30 minutes. A notable improvement is that Ballistic mode, the fastest ride mode, now stays active down to 10 percent battery charge compared to 30 percent earlier. Regenerative braking now works from 99 percent state of charge instead of 90 percent.
Features and safety equipment
The X-47 Venom adds three key features on the top three variants: cruise control, a 7-inch TFT touchscreen display, and camera-based parking assistance. The UV Hypersense system uses a 77 GHz rear radar with 200-metre detection range for blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, overtake warnings and rear-collision alerts.
Standard safety kit includes dual-channel ABS, traction control and dynamic stability control. Higher variants add four levels of traction control, the radar-powered Hypersense system and an integrated dashcam. The battery gets IP67 protection and a pyro-fuse safety system. Connected features include Mappls navigation and VIOLETTE AI security alerts. An optional extended warranty up to 8,00,000 km is also offered.
Dimensions, chassis and braking unchanged
The steel trellis frame carries over without changes. Seat height remains 820 mm, ground clearance 200 mm and wheelbase 1,385 mm. Braking is handled by a 320 mm front disc and 230 mm rear disc. Suspension uses a 41 mm preload-adjustable USD fork up front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. Tyre sizes stay 110/70 R17 front and 150/60 R17 rear.
European debut and new safety vest
Ultraviolette confirmed the X-47 Venom will make its European debut at EICMA 2026 on November 3 in Milan. Alongside the motorcycle, the company introduced the B-MAX reusable rider safety vest, adding to its ecosystem of rider-focused products.
The launch comes at a time when Ultraviolette is expanding its manufacturing footprint. While not explicitly detailed in the launch announcement, the company has been working on a new factory in Hosur to support growing demand and export plans.
Verdict
The Ultraviolette X-47 Venom represents a meaningful evolution rather than a revolution. The new VX-100 platform delivers tangible gains in weight, range and sustained performance while keeping the proven chassis dynamics intact. The introductory pricing makes the base variant competitively positioned against premium 300-400 cc petrol motorcycles, though the top variants enter a price bracket with fewer direct electric rivals. The radar-based safety suite and 12 kW DC fast charging are segment-first features that strengthen the value proposition. With bookings open and deliveries starting next month, the market response will indicate whether the weight savings and platform upgrades are enough to accelerate adoption in the premium electric motorcycle space.
