Tata Motors has reported a year-on-year decline of 8.6% in total vehicle sales for May 2025. The company sold 70,187 units in May this year, compared to 76,766 units during the same month in 2024.

Commercial Vehicles: Sales in this segment dipped by 5%, reaching 28,147 units. Sluggish freight movement and infrastructure delays are believed to have contributed to the slowdown.

Tata Motors’ Electric Vehicle (EV) division saw a mixed performance. While sales dipped slightly, the EV business turned EBITDA positive in FY 2024-25, marking a significant financial milestone for the segment.

EBITDA was ₹16,700 crore
Profit before tax (excluding exceptional items) came in at ₹12,100 crore
