Rajasthan Royals (RR) finally found success in IPL 2025, securing a narrow 6-run victory over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati. Under the new IPL regulations, captains no longer face match bans but instead accumulate demerit points for repeat offences. This new rule was introduced following Hardik Pandya’s suspension in IPL 2024, which led to his absence from Mumbai Indians’ opening match against CSK this season.
Despite the fine, RR will be pleased with their victory and the standout performances from their key players. Nitish Rana’s explosive innings provided the much-needed momentum, while Hasaranga’s brilliance with the ball sealed the game for RR. Their ability to hold their nerve in crucial moments showcased a renewed fighting spirit, something they’ll aim to build on in upcoming matches.
