MI vs SRH: Rohit, Boult Keep MI Streak Alive With Easy Win

Mumbai Indians climbed to third place with their fourth straight win as Rohit Sharma’s fluent fifty and Trent Boult’s new-ball brilliance sank Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets. After reducing SRH to 35 for 5, MI chased down 144 in just 15.4 overs, looking every bit the title contenders again.
Boult and Deepak Chahar set the tone early, swinging the ball and exploiting the pitch’s grip to rip through SRH’s top order. The powerplay yielded just 24 runs and four wickets. It got worse as SRH slipped further, only saved by Heinrich Klaasen’s lone resistance. His 71 off 44 was a classy mix of caution and counterattack, aided by Abhinav Manohar’s 43 in a 99-run stand.
Still, 144 was never going to be enough against a rejuvenated MI. Rohit picked up where he left off in the previous match, smashing another half-century with trademark ease. His shots off Pat Cummins and Jaydev Unadkat set the pace, and even his dismissal at 70 barely slowed MI down.
Suryakumar Yadav then finished the job with 40* off 19, playing with his usual flair as MI cruised to victory with 26 balls remaining. SRH’s only bright spots were Klaasen and the brief promise from debutant Malinga, but with just two wins in eight, their campaign is now in deep trouble.
MI’s dominant win was built on clinical bowling and smart batting. Boult’s 4 for 26 and Chahar’s two early breakthroughs left SRH reeling, while Rohit’s leadership with the bat showed his growing form. Despite the collapse, Klaasen and Manohar tried to rebuild, but MI’s attack was simply too strong. As MI’s top order continues to fire and their bowlers find rhythm, the team seems to be peaking at the right moment. SRH, on the other hand, is yet to find consistency, with too many key players failing to step up when needed most. MI’s four consecutive wins now position them as serious contenders, while SRH faces a steep climb to make the playoffs.
