New Jawa 42
1. Upgraded Engine and Gearbox: The heart of the new Jawa 42 is its 294.72cc engine, now referred to as the ‘J Panther’ by the company. While the peak output remains the same at 26.9 bhp and 26.84 Nm of torque, Jawa has made refinements to enhance the riding experience. The engine now offers improved power and torque delivery at lower RPMs, making it ideal for city commutes. Additionally, upgrades have been made to reduce noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) levels and to improve engine cooling.
The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox that includes a slip and assist clutch for smoother gear shifts. A new gear-based engine mapping system has been introduced, optimizing the engine’s performance across different gears. The first three gears are tuned for low RPM riding, while the higher gears are optimized for mid-range and top-end power, making the bike more versatile for highway cruising.
2. New Features and Improved Comfort: The new Jawa 42 isn’t just about engine upgrades. Jawa has also focused on enhancing rider comfort and convenience. The bike now comes with a redesigned seat that promises better comfort for long rides. The suspension has been retuned for improved ride quality, and the addition of a redesigned balancer helps to further reduce vibrations.
3. Stylish Updates and New Color Options: Aesthetic updates are also part of the package. The Jawa 42 now comes in six new color options, giving riders more choices to match their style. The new shades include Grey, Odyssey Black, Celestial Copper Matte, Asteroid Grey, Nebula Blue, Voyager Red, Orion Red Matte, and Vega White. Additionally, Dual Tone options are available, including Infinity Black Matte, Cosmic Carbon, Starship Blue, All Star Black Matte, Celestial Copper Matte, Sirius White Matte, and Cosmic Rock.
4. Variants and Pricing: The Jawa 42 is available in three different variants:
- Base Variant: Spoked wheels with single-channel ABS.
- Mid Variant: Spoked wheels with dual-channel ABS.
- Top Variant: Alloy wheels with dual-channel ABS.
Prices for the Jawa 42 range from Rs 1.73 lakh to Rs 1.98 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), making it more affordable than its predecessor, which was priced from Rs 1.89 lakh.
