Indian Railways has introduced a Vande Bharat special train connecting New Delhi and Patna. This semi-high-speed service aims to boost connectivity between these major cities, especially during the festive season. Passengers can look forward to a modern travel experience with enhanced comfort and speed.
The Vande Bharat special will make six strategic stops along its route. These halts include Aligarh, Kanpur Central, Prayagraj Junction, Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Buxar, and Ara. This ensures key cities benefit from the faster, modern service.
Departing from New Delhi at 08:35 hours, the Vande Bharat reaches Patna at 21:30 hours the same day. This timing allows for convenient daytime travel, making the journey pleasant and efficient for all passengers.
On the return trip, the train leaves Patna Junction at 10:00 hours and arrives in New Delhi at 23:30 hours. Both directions are scheduled to maximize passenger convenience and reduce travel fatigue.
Fares for the Vande Bharat special are set at Rs 2,595 for Chair Car and Rs 4,675 for Executive Class. While slightly higher than regular trains, the premium cost is justified by superior amenities and faster travel times.
Passengers can expect a host of advanced features on this Vande Bharat train. These include automatic doors, comfortable reclining seats, and GPS-based information systems. The train’s design prioritizes energy efficiency and a smooth ride.
Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, Chief Public Relations Officer of Northern Railway, highlighted the train’s purpose. He stated it aims to manage the heavy passenger load during festivals, ensuring safe and comfortable journeys for all travelers.
The introduction of this Vande Bharat special is part of a broader initiative. Indian Railways plans to expand this network to handle increased travel demand and improve year-round connectivity.
Beyond the festive season, this Vande Bharat service will strengthen ties between Bihar and the national capital. It promises to be a reliable option for commuters and tourists alike, enhancing regional integration.
As of May 2024, there are 106 Vande Bharat trains operating across India. The fleet continues to grow, with more routes expected to be added in the coming months to serve diverse passenger needs.
Key features of the Vande Bharat include a driver’s cabin at both ends, reducing turnaround time. With 16 coaches seating about 1,128 passengers, it offers two first-class compartments for added luxury and convenience.
The train’s stainless steel body and aerodynamic design contribute to its energy efficiency. Inside, amenities like bio-vacuum toilets and rotating seats ensure a comfortable journey, even at high speeds.
Second-generation Vande Bharat trains come with enhanced safety systems and upgraded seating. Emergency lights, better air conditioning, and improved ventilation make travel safer and more enjoyable for everyone on board.
Booking a ticket for the Vande Bharat is straightforward through the IRCTC website or app. Simply enter your travel details, select the train, choose your class, add passenger information, and complete the payment securely.
Once booked, you’ll receive a confirmation via email and SMS. This efficient process ensures a hassle-free experience from start to finish, aligning with the train’s modern ethos.
